Libya’s Parliament speaker receives state accounts report, pledges stronger oversight

Libya’s House of Representatives Speaker Aguila Saleh received the country’s final state accounts from the Head of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Qaderbouh.

The meeting, held in Al-Qubbah on Wednesday, August 5, focused on strengthening oversight mechanisms, improving institutional performance and enhancing transparency in the management of public resources.

According to the Speaker’s Media Centre, discussions also addressed efforts to combat financial and administrative corruption while protecting state funds and promoting good governance.

Saleh reaffirmed the House of Representatives’ support for oversight institutions, including providing the necessary legislative and administrative backing to enable them to operate independently and effectively.

Qaderbouh presented an overview of state final accounts for previous fiscal years, along with the authority’s future plans and efforts to monitor government institutions’ compliance with laws and regulations. He expressed the authority’s commitment to protecting public resources and upholding the rule of law.
