Morocco Integrate MIT “REAP” Program

Morocco has integrated the Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (REAP) designed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a capstone global initiative meant to help regions accelerate economic growth and job creation through innovation-driven entrepreneurship (IDE).
Morocco is thus part of a short list that does not include more than six countries from all over the world. The five other participating countries are Qatar, Scotland, Finland, Singapore and New Zealand.
REAP partner regions form multi-disciplinary teams and commit to a two-year learning engagement with MIT, as stated on the program’s website. During this engagement, teams work with world-renowned MIT faculty and the broader REAP community through a series of action-learning activities to build and implement a custom regional strategy for enhancing their IDE ecosystems.
Each partner region has a team comprised of 5 to 7 highly driven and influential regional members and is headed by a regional champion. All 5 major stakeholder groups, namely government, corporate, academia, risk capital, and the entrepreneurial community, are represented in an MIT REAP team.
MIT REAP learning cycles involve highly interactive workshops held every 6 months. Two workshops are hosted at MIT and two other workshops are hosted by selected partner regions.
