Morocco’s King Mohammed VI underscored political stability, institutional resilience and national sovereignty as priceless assets.
Speaking on the 27th anniversary of his accession to the throne, King Mohammed VI said stability remained Morocco’s most valuable strategic asset amid regional turmoil and international uncertainty.
“What gives us the greatest sense of pride and satisfaction is the security and stability enjoyed by Morocco, as well as the efficiency and effectiveness of state institutions,” the monarch said.
He described political and institutional stability as increasingly rare in today’s geopolitical environment and said Morocco’s deep-rooted state institutions had enabled it to navigate crises, manage natural disasters and sustain economic progress.
The king pointed to Morocco’s organization of major international and continental events and said the kingdom had demonstrated an ability to respond effectively to challenges, including recent floods that affected parts of the country.
King Mohammed VI said Morocco had strengthened its position as a respected international actor and a trusted partner on the global stage.
“Today, Morocco is an important economic player and a sought-after partner in new, balanced, forward-looking partnerships,” he said.
The monarch said Rabat would continue pursuing a policy of diversified international partnerships while maintaining what he described as a sense of commitment and responsibility in its relations with foreign partners.
Morocco was now able to engage confidently with partners and propose cooperation initiatives on major bilateral and international issues, the King said.
King Mohammed VI also said the country’s economic and social achievements were the result of long-term strategic choices extending beyond the mandates of individual governments and parliamentary cycles.
Following upcoming parliamentary elections and the appointment of a new government, he said he expected to launch a new stage in Morocco’s development aimed at consolidating existing gains and advancing major reforms and projects.
The king concluded by paying tribute to Morocco’s armed forces, security services, gendarmerie and civil protection agencies, praising their role in safeguarding the kingdom’s unity, security and stability.
