Inwi Partners with China Mobile to Rollout Morocco 1st Private 5G Network for Industry 0.4

Moroccan telecom operator Inwi has partnered with China Mobile International to deploy the country’s first private 5G network destined for industries like mining, logistics, and renewable energy.

The deal was announced on the sidelines of GITEX Africa Morocco in Marrakech. It is part of the Kingdom’s strategy to strengthen industrial competitiveness through digital innovation

The private 5G network will be deployed by Inwi on a 52-hectare industrial site in Morocco’s Oriental region, which hosts the Nador West Med industrial hub.

“This deployment demonstrates Inwi’s ambition to support the digital transformation of Moroccan industrial players by offering them sovereign, high-performance infrastructures adapted to critical uses”, said the Moroccan telecom operator, noting that this project paves the way for a new generation of Industry 4.0 in Morocco.

The 5G network will enable remote sensing and real-time monitoring of production indicators, aligning the site with international smart factory standards, supporting long-term industrial transformation and regional economic growth.

Morocco started deploying 5G in November 2025, with Inwi, Maroc Telecom, and Orange Maroc offering this high-speed service nationwide. This is part of the Digital Morocco 2030 plan, which aims to cover 75% of the population by 2030.
