Bahrain has reiterated its steadfast support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and its full sovereignty over its Sahara, and commended King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for his steadfast support of the Palestinian cause.
This stance was expressed in a joint Communiqué issued following the 6th Morocco-Bahrain Joint High Committee, held Monday in Laayoune.
The Communiqué emphasized that Bahrain has once again welcomed the historic UN Security Council Resolution 2797, which enshrines the autonomy initiative under Moroccan sovereignty as the sole basis for resolving the Sahara regional dispute.
Likewise, Bahrain has expressed support for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy for the Sahara to facilitate negotiations based on the Moroccan autonomy initiative, in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2797, with a view to reaching a final solution that enshrines Morocco’s sovereignty over its Southern provinces.
Bahrain has also commended the efforts of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in support of the Palestinian issue, and praised the Sovereign’s efforts in defending the city of Al-Quds Asharif and its inhabitants, preserving its civilizational character, and safeguarding its status as a symbol of tolerance and coexistence among the monotheistic religions.
In this vein, the Guld Country welcomed the concrete humanitarian and social projects undertaken by Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency, the executive arm of the Al Quds Committee, in support of the resilience of the Al-Quds inhabitants on their land.
