Libya and Saudi Arabia Forge Strategic Telecom Partnership

Libya’s Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Holding Company signed a preliminary MoU (Memorandum of understanding) on Thursday, 11 December, with Saudi Arabia’s Technology Link Services for Telecommunications, signalling a push to strengthen regional collaboration in the telecommunications sector.
The agreement, concluded during a meeting between Libyan Chairman Youssef Ibrahim Hussein and Saudi delegation leader Ali bin Misfer Al-Qahtani, establishes a framework for cooperation on technical studies, urban and national network development, market assessments, and regional connectivity strategies with African neighbours.
Chairman Hussein highlighted the MoU’s role in enhancing Libya’s digital infrastructure, fostering expertise exchange, and supporting economic development aligned with the nation’s digital vision, underlining regional cooperation as essential for modernising telecommunications and keeping pace with global digital transformation.
