The Governments of the United States, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom jointly expressed on November 27 their full support for the United Nations’ roadmap aimed at achieving unity, stability, and lasting peace in Libya.
The statement welcomed the UN Security Council’s extension of the UN Support Mission in Libya and endorsed the facilitation led by Special Representative Hanna Tetteh, urging all Libyan actors to advance the political process toward unified governance and elections.
The statement also highlighted the importance of coordinated security efforts between eastern and western Libyan forces, calling for institutionalisation of such cooperation to achieve full national unification.
Economic integration and the strengthening of sovereign institutions, including the National Oil Corporation, the Central Bank, and the Audit Bureau, were underscored as essential for sustainable growth, energy production, and financial stability.
The joint declaration emphasized that a strong, unified Libya with cohesive institutions would safeguard national sovereignty and prosperity while supporting the political reconciliation process.
