Trump Calls for Urgent Action to End Sudan Violence, Coordinates with Middle Eastern Partners

U.S. President Donald Trump issued a statement on November 19 urging an “immediate halt” to the ongoing violence in Sudan, describing the conflict as the “single biggest Humanitarian Crisis.”
Trump claimed Arab leaders, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, had requested his intervention, and he vowed to coordinate with key Middle Eastern nations—including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Egypt—to stabilise the country.
Highlighting Sudan’s rich cultural heritage, Trump emphasised the urgent need for humanitarian aid, including food, medical personnel, and other essential support.
The Sudanese Government welcomed the engagement of the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, affirming its “serious readiness to engage” in efforts to achieve peace, while also expressing gratitude for attention and efforts to stop the bloodshed. However, Khartoum rejected the involvement of the UAE in the Quad mediation group, accusing it of supplying military support and foreign mercenaries to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Meanwhile, mediation efforts continue to stall as the Sudanese Army insists on RSF withdrawal from occupied areas before considering any humanitarian truce, threatening to continue military operations if their conditions are not met.
