Libya’s Mufti suggests halt of oil sales to countries supporting Israel in war on Gaza

The Mufti of Libya Sheikh Al-Sadiq Al-Gharyani has urged authorities to suspend the sales of Libyan oil to countries supporting Israel in its ongoing massacre in Gaza.

“Libyans must remove all European military missions from the country and cut off oil and gas sales to Western countries that are loyal to Israel”, the Mufti said on local television Tanasuh TV channel.

Israel in its reaction to Hamas-orchestrated 0ctober 7 attacks which claimed the lives of more than 1000 people has been obliterating the Gaza Strip causing the death of more than 8,000 people, mostly women and children.

Tel Aviv has ignored international calls for ceasefire. Several western countries including the U.S., France, Germany, and the United Kingdom have stood by Israel’s side and vowed to eradicate Hamas movement, controlling the Gaza Strip.

The Libyan top Muslim cleric urged Libyans “to use their weapons in a way that pleases Allah.”

He explained that Europeans who support Israel are not affected by verbal statements, emphasizing what affects those people is action like “cutting off oil and gas to them and boycotting their goods.”

Libya’s parliament, the House of Representatives (HoR), has condemned Israel’s weeks-long bombardment of the enclave.
