Explosion at nitrogen unit of well in Libya kills worker, wounds another

An explosion at nitrogen unit of well A55 in the Entissar field of the Zueitina Oil Company caused Thursday the death of a worker and injuries to another, Libya’s state-run National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced, Libya Observer reports.
The casualty, the NOC indicated, was a worker from the Al-Nisr Company, which is carrying out work on the A55 well of the Zueitina Company. The injured worker, the company also indicated, was transferred to the hospital and he was in a stable condition.
It is unclear what caused the explosion but the NOC Chairman Farhat Bengdara has reportedly the formation of a committee to independently investigate the causes of the explosion, take all security and safety measures. NOC-owned Zueitina Oil Company runs the Intisar oilfield which is located south west of Benghazi.
