Sudan’s military leader shakes up military leadership

Sudan’s military leader, General Abdelfattah Al-Burhan, made Thursday changes in the army amid political and economic turmoil, Reuters reports.
Al Burhan reshuffled the leadership of military’s land forces, operations, and supply heads as well as its general inspector.
General Mohamed Osman Alhussein, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has been kept in his position. This marks the largest change in army leadership since a coup led by Al-Burhan and other generals on October 25 ended a transitional partnership with civilian political groups.
A number of the protests have rocked the country recently asking for the return of a civilian rule and government intervention to tame soaring food prices.
