Libyan, Tunisian Central Banks to enhance cooperation

The governors of the central banks of Tunisia and Libya held Sunday talks in capital Tunis to improve cooperation between the two institutions.

Marouen Abassi of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) hosted his Libyan counterpart Seddik Omar Kébir.

A statement from Libya’s CBL indicated the two governor discussed issues of mutual concern in “the banking and financial aspects” and reviewed “some cooperation agreements”.

The two banks signed last year a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in the areas of joint work. The MoU aims at developing financial transactions, launching initiatives and training Libyan youth to keep pace with development in the banking field.
