Morocco’s tourism authority, ONMT, has signed a deal with Israeli private carrier Israir to promote the kingdom destination as both countries boost ties.
ONMT in a statement issued on Tuesday indicated the deal, signed by ONMT Director Adel El Fakir, and owner of Israeli airline Rami Levi, will enable Israir to operate two weekly flights from its hub Tel Aviv Ben Gourion to Marrakech Menara, Le360.ma reports.
The deal will enable both new partners to deploy a multimedia device on several Israeli channels in order to communicate on the Morocco destination, its accessibility and its diversified offer for the various segments: family or religious tourism, leisure tourism, business travel, and MICE (Meetings, incentive, conferences, events), according to the statement.
“The Israir Group is one of the most important tourism players in Israel. Through this partnership, we will quickly attract a significant flow of customers from this strategic market and we are also laying the foundation for sustainable growth for years to come,” El Fakir noted.
The signing took place on the sidelines of the International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) held in Tel Aviv March 29-30.
