OCP Nutricrops and Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to supply 3.8 million tons of fertilizer to the Brazilian market over the 2026-2027 period.
The agreement was signed during an official visit by a high-level Brazilian government delegation to OCP’s industrial complex at Jorf Lasfar.
The deal was co-signed by Brazilian Minister of Agriculture and Livestock André de Paula and OCP Nutricrops CEO Faris Derrij.
Triple Super Phosphate (TSP) will occupy a central place in the volumes destined for Brazil.
The partnership also provides for an expanded range of plant-nutrition solutions tailored to the specific characteristics of Brazilian soils and crops.
Beyond volume commitments, the MoU establishes a broader framework for cooperation covering plant nutrition and soil health, the improvement of agricultural practices, the development of more sustainable and low-carbon models, digital innovation in agriculture, research, training, and scientific and technical exchanges.
Both parties aim to develop solutions adapted to Brazil’s diverse production systems and strengthen knowledge transfer.
The deal comes amid growing global concerns over the resilience of agricultural input supply chains.
It also builds on OCP’s longstanding presence in Brazil, where the group established OCP Brasil in 2010 to work closely with local farmers and stakeholders in the country’s agricultural ecosystem.
With the commitment of 3.8 million tons over two years, the partnership advances both supply security for one of the world’s major agricultural powers and deeper agronomic collaboration focused on the specific needs of Brazilian soils and crops.
