Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah on Monday called for faster digital transformation across higher education institutions and the completion of stalled University infrastructure projects.
Speaking at an extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, attended by University presidents from across the country, Mr Dbeibah said maintaining institutional stability and ensuring uninterrupted academic work remained priorities.
He urged universities and researchers to conduct studies on national issues to support government decision-making. He also called for improvements in private higher education and stronger international academic and research cooperation.
Mr Dbeibah said the sector must move beyond addressing daily challenges and focus on improving educational quality while aligning graduates’ skills with labour market needs.
The council also discussed postgraduate studies, private higher education and international cooperation, while Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Mohammed Dbeibah outlined measures being implemented to develop the sector.
