Libya’s oil export revenues reached $15.234 billion in the first six months of 2026, exceeding the Government’s target of $13.985 billion by nearly 9%, according to data published by the Ministry of Economy and Trade.
Crude oil production stood at about 246 million barrels during the period, slightly below the target of 252 million barrels.
The ministry described the results as a positive sign of progress towards implementing Libya’s unified financial expenditure agreement, urging continued coordination among state institutions to align spending with actual revenues and support economic activity and living standards.
The development follows a unified public spending agreement signed in April 2026 by Libya’s House of Representatives and High Council of State at the Central Bank of Libya — the first such spending consensus in more than 13 years. Oil and gas exports remain Libya’s main source of revenue, although production has frequently been disrupted by conflict and political instability.
