Libya, South Korea Explore Deeper Trade and Investment Cooperation

The Minister of Economy and Trade of Libya held talks on April 16 with the Deputy Foreign Minister of South Korea to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries.

The meeting, attended by the South Korean ambassador, focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in investment and development projects. Both sides underscored the value of leveraging advanced technical expertise to support Libya’s economic recovery and long-term growth.

Discussions also centred on revitalizing trade flows and promoting business engagement through exhibitions and economic forums, aimed at fostering partnerships between Libyan and Korean companies.

The two parties further explored collaboration in intellectual property protection, highlighting its role in improving the investment climate and encouraging innovation.

The Libyan official extended an invitation to South Korean firms to re-enter the Libyan market, especially those with prior project experience, citing their capacity to contribute meaningfully to the country’s development agenda.
