Casablanca Airport Launches Operations Command Center for Enhanced Coordination

Morocco’s National Airports Office inaugurated an Airport Operational Center at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, marking significant operational organization advancement for the kingdom’s primary hub while contributing to smooth operations during the 2025 African Cup of Nations and future major international events.

Installed at Mohammed V airport’s heart, the operations nerve center serves as supervision and coordination facility gathering all key airport exploitation actors within a single space, the office announced. Participating entities include Interior Ministry services, National Security Directorate General, Royal Gendarmerie, Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration, airlines, ground handlers, airport operators, air navigation services, air traffic control, maintenance teams, and IT services.

The center, operating around the clock and seven days a week, becomes the operational nerve center covering all Mohammed V airport key processes, from aircraft operations planning and coordination, runway management, parking positions, and ground circulation, through baggage flow management for departures and arrivals, resource monitoring, passenger journey coordination, checkpoint fluidity, and boarding operations.

The facility integrates mobility management, circulation, and parking, critical infrastructure monitoring, maintenance operations, plus security and safety operational coordination. For passengers, the center translates into optimized waiting times, more fluid experiences, and real-time information. Airlines benefit from improved resource coordination, reduced delays, and reinforced operational efficiency.

Within sustained air traffic growth context, estimated at over 12% annually, and increasingly complex operations, the center provides concrete responses to Mohammed V airport performance and resilience challenges as a major hub for national, African, and international traffic.

Through this center’s commissioning, the National Airports Office reaffirms commitment to modern, proactive, coordinated infrastructure management, perfectly aligned with the “Airports 2030” strategy. Its launch assumes particular importance with the African Cup of Nations and upcoming major events, enabling anticipation of activity peaks linked to exceptional influx while ensuring fluid, controlled welcome and passenger experience conforming to international standards.
