Morocco awards contract for new Casablanca Airport Terminal

Morocco’s National Airports Office (ONDA) has awarded the construction contract for the new terminal at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport to a fully Moroccan consortium composed of SGTM and TGCC, the public operator said.

The contract, valued at 12.8 billion dirhams, represents the largest airport infrastructure project ever undertaken in the country.

According to ONDA, the project marks a major turning point for Morocco’s busiest airport and aims to equip Casablanca with facilities that match its ambitions as a regional and international aviation hub.

The project forms part of ONDA’s “Aéroport 2030” strategy, which seeks to bring Morocco’s airports up to the highest international standards in terms of capacity, efficiency and global connectivity.

The new terminal will cover 600,000 square meters and is designed to handle 20 million passengers per year in its initial phase, with the possibility of expansion to 30 million.
