The authoritarian Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, one of Morocco’s enemies and strategic ally of Algerian regime and the Polisario in Latin America, has been captured by the United States, demonstrating the New World Order taking shape.
Washington accuses Maduro of running a “narco-terrorist” regime. He will stand trial in the USA for threatening American strategic interests. He is widely seen by opponents within his country as well as by foreign governments as having illegitimately won Venezuela’s 2024 election.
Morocco is the only African country that joined in 2024 the United States, Canada, the European Union and several Latin American governments in condemning Maduro’s re-election as a sham and recognized his opponent as Venezuela’s duly elected president.
In 2009, Morocco cut diplomatic ties with Venezuela during Chavez presidency for hostile position undermining the Kingdom’s territorial integrity but maintains contacts with Venezuela opposition which is pushing for the establishment of good relations with Rabat and recognition of the Moroccan sovereignty over its Saharan territory.
In 2021, Speaker of Venezuela’s National Assembly and Interim President, Juan Guaidó, expressed support for the Moroccan autonomy plan in the Sahara under the Kingdom’s sovereignty, saying the plan is the only feasible solution to promote stability and prosperity in the region.
Maduro’s ousting sends a strong message to the Algerian junta and its Polisario puppets, showing how far the Trump administration is willing to go to eliminate those deemed a threat to the interests of America and its allies.
The United States has offered the Algerian regime a 60-day peace deal to normalize relations with Morocco, a strategic partner and long-standing ally of America.
U.S. presidential advisors Massad Boulos and steve Witkoff went off the radar after the Algerian rulers declined the U.S. offer and refused to comply with UN Security Council resolution 2797 endorsing Moroccan autonomy plan in the Sahara under the Kingdom’s sovereignty.
Now with the removal of Maduro, the Algerian regime knows that their days are numbered after missing a “face-saving exit” proposal, while their allies are falling one after another from Syria to Venezuela, from Gadhafi to Nasrallah and Iran.
The world will shed no tears for the end of Maduro’s regime. But this is bad news for the Algerian military rulers who need high oil and gas prices to perpetuate their dictatorship. They have promised voters better life and unlimited riches, which turn out to be just a mirage, an economic nightmare blackhole of poverty and oppression.
Iran is currently rocked by growing popular demonstrations fuelled by economic hardships, inflation and unemployment. The same popular discontent is building up in Algeria with the deepening political and socioeconomic crises. Both countries are part of the axis of evil and facing the threat of American wrath.
The deteriorating economic situation played a central role in the downfall of dictators in both Venezuela and Syria, creating a maelstrom of public discontent and dispirited security forces, leading to the collapse of defense line.
The “Venezuela scenario” is expected to have global ramifications. It is very likely to have a direct impact on Algeria and bring in seismic change to this country!
