Sahara: Cambodia joins countries supporting Moroccan autonomy plan & territorial integrity
The Government of Cambodia has expressed support for the Autonomy Plan proposed by Morocco for the Sahara under its sovereignty, saying the plan offers “serious and realistic” political solution to this decades-long conflict.
The supportive stand was made by FM of this Southeast Asian country Prak Sokhonn during his talks held Tuesday remotely with Moroccan peer Nasser Bourita.
In a joint statement, the top diplomat of Phnom Penh voiced his country’s
full support for Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and UN efforts engaged for the resolution of the Sahara issue in line with Security Council resolutions.
The two ministers expressed shared commitment to peace, security and stability, stressing both countries’ rejection of all separatist agendas undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of UN member states.
“The threats posed by separatist entities to political security and stability in several regions are as serious as those posed by terrorists and extremist groups”, said the Moroccan-Cambodian statement.
