NGO HSF appeals for Morocco’s King help to save hundreds of people expelled by Algeria & stranded in desert

International NGO “Horizon Sans Frontières” has called for the “natural leadership of King Mohammed VI” to launch the African initiative on international migration for a better management of youth people seeking dignified future, while “nearly 1,000 sub-Saharan migrants, expelled by Algeria to the border with Niger, are suffering in the desert.”

According to the NGO, 41 Senegalese, 365 Guineans, 301 Malians, 34 Beninese, 30 Gambians and 12 Cameroonians, are in “a situation of extreme urgency and must walk many kilometers to reach the town of Assamaka.”

For “Horizon Sans Frontières, King Mohammed VI, “hope of the African youth”, embodies the image of the African leader capable of rekindling hope for the youth people, who are losing their life in the Mediterranean and in the desert”.

HSF says Morocco is a welcoming land and country of transit for thousands of young Africans due to its geostrategic position and proximity to Europe.

Following the troubling regional and international management of migration flux, King Mohammed VI stands out as “the man of the situation for a united Africa facing the challenges of globalization”, affirms the NGO.

It is to be recalled that Morocco is hosting the African Migration Observatory, whose setting up was proposed by King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as the AU leader on the issue of migration.
