Improvised explosive device planted in cinema in DRC wounds 3 people

An improvised explosive device, IED, planted in a local cinema in Butembo in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo went off injuring three people, Anadolu news agency reports.
Paul Ngoma, the Chief of police in the town told the Turkish news agency, Anadolu, that the blast occurred at a makeshift cinema at 18h20 local time. Kamate Cleophas, a survivor of the incident, told the Anadolu that the device was planted under a wooden seat.
“Three of us who were in the movie theater were injured by nails ejected at the time of the explosion,” he added. Police reportedly earlier in the day were alerted by some people after the discovery of two IEDs in one district of the two.
The incident is the second this year in the 1 million town population. Early September two wounded by IED in front of the town hall. Authorities blamed Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a Uganda-based rebel armed group affiliated to the Islamic state group.
Uganda has blacklisted the group which is also operating in DRC. Congolese authorities have blamed the group in August for two police officers and for freeing 800 prisoners from Butembo prison.
On Christmas last year, seven people were killed after an IED exploded in a restaurant in Beni, a city near Butembo. Dozens of others were wounded in the attack.
