Mali’s Premier minister C. Maïga leaves hospital after sojourn for stroke treatment

Choguel Maïga, Mali’s Prime Minister has left hospital for his official residence after he suffered a stroke on July 10 forcing to vanish from the political arena.
The 64-year old left the clinic where he was admitted for treatment on Saturday.
A source very close to the Prime Minister of the Transition told French media RFI that Maiga is recovering but cannot resume work as of now.
He cannot bear the burden of the job, working for example 15 hours a day as he sometimes did, the source who asked not to be named said.
While he was away, Col. Assmi Goita appointed Col. Abdoulaye Maïga as the Caretaker Prime Minister.
The latter has become very popular after his address at the UN General Assembly late last month. Maiga blasted former colonial power France for seeking to maintain Mali under bondage.
He also took aim at UN Chief Antonio Guterres for taking sides in the ongoing feud opposing Mali to Cote d’Ivoire over the arrest of 46 Ivory soldiers held in Bamako over alleged plans to destabilize Mali.
Guterres last month before the GA indicated that the soldiers were not mercenaries. Maiga urged him to remain neutral before the incident is a bilateral case.
