Morocco-Israel: Exchange of high-level delegations’ visit next February
Morocco and Israel are set to exchange visits of high-level delegations in February to finalize the terms of cooperation agreements in various areas.
The issue was discussed in a phone call Friday between Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Israel’s National Security Adviser Meir Ben Shabbat.
During the phone call, which takes place within the frame of the follow-up of the telephone conservation held between King Mohammed VI and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the two officials discussed several issues of common interest, and agreed to set up working groups for steering bilateral cooperation.
The working groups will focus on the conclusion of cooperation agreements in investment, agriculture, water, environment, tourism, science, innovation and energy.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, these working groups will hold videoconference meetings. However, a Moroccan high-level delegation will visit Israel as soon as possible, probably in February, to finalize the terms of these agreements.
An Israeli delegation, led by Ben Shabbat, is also expected in Morocco in February.
Bourita and Ben Shabbat also discussed the huge potential of bilateral cooperation that will benefit not only Morocco and Israel, but also the whole region.
