Morocco: Tourism Minister honored with World Travel Award
Morocco’s Minister of Tourism Lahcen Haddad Saturday picked up World Travel Award in recognition to the kingdom’s massive and promotional campaigns to attract international holidaymakers to the most peaceful North African country.
“Honored to have received tonight #worldtravelawards 2015 Outstanding Contribution to Travel & Tourism Industry Award,”Haddad wrote on his twitter account after winning the award.
The award ceremony marking the 22 edition of the annual World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala took place at Morocco’s Magazan Beach & Golf Resort in El Jadida.
Haddad was one the three guests of honor including Peru and Maldives representing their respective countries’ tourism ministries at the event.
Commending Morocco for the warming welcome, Graham Cooke, President and Founder of World Travel Awards was delighted to be in Morocco, a country with splendid and enormous potentials.
“It is a pleasure to be welcomed to Morocco for the first time, and I could not think of a more appropriate host for this evening than Mazagan Golf & Beach Resort,” Cooke said.
The award according to organizers pays tribute to countries investing massively into tourism and travel industry as well as celebrates excellence across all sectors of the industry.
Morocco has embarked on impressive tourism promotion campaigns aiming at attracting international tourists.
Morocco this year indicated that it targets to attract 100,000 Chinese tourists by 2018 and equally 100,000 Russian tourists in 2016.
