Royal Air Maroc will begin installing Starlink high-speed internet on 41 of its aircraft starting in early 2027, offering the service free of charge to members of its Safar Flyer loyalty program as part of a broader modernization of its fleet and passenger experience.
The national carrier said the rollout will be gradual to minimize operational disruption, RAM said.
Once equipped, the aircraft will provide broadband connectivity designed to support streaming, messaging, and real-time work throughout flights.
RAM stated that the deployment will make it the first African airline to offer Starlink onboard.
Starlink, operated by SpaceX, relies on a constellation of low-Earth-orbit satellites to deliver lower-latency internet compared with many traditional satellite systems.
Other carriers, including Air France and members of the Lufthansa Group, have also adopted the technology as reliable onboard connectivity becomes an increasingly important factor in passenger competition.
“This agreement reflects a clear ambition to offer our passengers a travel experience that meets the most demanding international standards,” said Royal Air Maroc CEO Hamid Addou.
He described the Starlink partnership as one element of a multiyear program that also includes fleet renewal, cabin redesigns, and modernization of the passenger experience both on the ground and in the air.
