A delegation from the U.S. Congress, led by Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Brian Mast, was received Thursday in Rabat by Delegate minister for National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi.
Discussion focused on centuries-old Moroccan-American relationship, growing military cooperation marked by the regular meetings of the two countries Defense Consultative Committee, exchange of visits by senior military officers and the annual holding of the military exercise “African Lion”.
During the meeting, Loudyi hailed America’ recognition of Morocco’s full sovereignty over its entire Sahara territory and the sustained efforts engaged by the Trump Administration to end the Sahara regional dispute.
He highlighted the various royal initiative launched to strengthen South-South cooperation and regional integration, making the Kingdom a key player in Africa stability and shared prosperity.
For its part, the US congressional delegation commended the leadership of King Mohammed VI who turned Morocco into a reliable partner in regional and global peace, stability and security.
On this occasion, Morocco and the United States expressed shared determination to advance their strategic partnership in defense industry, cybersecurity and the space sector shaping their common future.
