Morocco Donates 1000 Tons of Fertilizer to Panama

Morocco has donated 1,000 tons of fertilizer to Panama during a ceremony attended by Panama’s Minister of Agricultural Development, Roberto José Linares Tribaldos, and Morocco’s Ambassador to Panama, Bouchra Boudchich.

The Panamanian official expressed his gratitude to Morocco for the donation, which embodies, he said, the spirit of cooperation between the two countries and forms part of a broader strategic partnership encompassing the exchange of expertise and knowledge, as well as the sharing of Morocco’s experience in the agricultural sector.

The donation is intended exclusively for small-scale producers, family farming, and school gardens, which will help support family agriculture, enhance productive competitiveness, and strengthen food security, the Panamanian official said.

He noted that his ministry’s services would oversee the distribution of the fertilizer to farmers throughout the country through a dedicated mechanism, so that a wide range of small Panamanian farmers could benefit from it, several of whom were present at the ceremony.

For his part, Panama’s Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs and Cooperation expressed his profound gratitude to the Kingdom, through its Embassy in Panama, stressing that the donation would have a direct impact on the population by supporting national agricultural production.

He also expressed his pleasure that the ceremony coincided with the commemoration of the bicentenary of the Amphictyonic Congress of Panama.

For her part, the Moroccan diplomat emphasized that the donation reflects “a new chapter in the friendship between the Kingdom and the Republic of Panama,” stressing that these relations embody the shared vision and strong political will of King Mohammed VI and President José Raúl Mulino to build a more dynamic and closer bilateral partnership serving the peoples of both countries.

The donation also embodies a vision of diplomacy that makes South-South cooperation a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom’s foreign policy, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, within the framework of an approach based on solidarity, mutual respect, the sharing of expertise and knowledge, and the creation of opportunities for co-development.
