Morocco’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics has announced the launch of an exceptional financial support mechanism for road transport professionals, with applications opening on Friday, March 20, 2026, in direct response to the surge in international oil prices and its knock-on effect on domestic fuel costs.
The support program mirrors a similar initiative successfully deployed by the government in March 2022. Eligible professionals — covering both freight and passenger road transport operators — can submit their applications and track their status online through the dedicated digital platform at https://mouakaba.transport.gov.ma. The ministry confirmed that the same digital framework used in previous operations will be applied, having demonstrated its effectiveness in processing applications and channeling aid to beneficiaries within required timeframes.
Ministry services at both local and central levels will remain available to provide guidance and clarification to transport professionals throughout the application process. No additional procedural details regarding aid amounts or eligibility thresholds were disclosed in the ministry’s communiqué, though the reference to the 2022 operation suggests a comparable compensation structure tied to verifiable fuel consumption data.
The announcement reflects the government’s recognition that rising energy costs pose a direct threat to the operational viability of Morocco’s road transport sector — a backbone of the national logistics chain and a sector particularly vulnerable to commodity price volatility given its structural dependence on fuel as a primary cost input. With international oil markets remaining unsettled amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, the measure aims to cushion the sector against further economic strain while broader energy policy responses are considered.
