Morocco, Top Consumer Goods Exporter in Africa

Morocco has rapidly transformed its economy into a manufacturing and export-driven powerhouse, particularly in consumer goods, says “African Exponent” news platform specializing in economy, trade and business.

According to latest rankings released by “African Exponent”, Morocco takes top position in consumer goods exports in the Continent in 2025/2026. South Africa comes in the 2nd place followed by Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Egypt, Kenya, Ghana and Tunisia.

Over the past decade, Morocco has built strong industrial clusters in automotive, electronics, textiles, and food processing. The automotive sector alone has become a major export engine, supported by large-scale industrial zones like Tanger Automotive City, which hosts global manufacturers and suppliers.

Beyond automotive manufacturing, Morocco’s textile and apparel industry remains highly competitive, serving European fashion brands through fast turnaround times and reliable quality.

The country also exports processed foods and packaged goods, benefiting from agricultural production and food processing investments.

Morocco’s trade agreements with Europe and other global markets, combined with its geostrategic position as a bridge between Africa and Europe, make it a champion in consumer goods export in the Continent.
