Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in collaboration with the Egyptian Military Academy, has signed memoranda of understanding with 30 local and international technology companies to train young people in digital and information technology skills. The agreements were announced on Monday, January 12, 2026, according to Ahram Online.
The partnerships form part of the government-funded Digilians initiative, which provides technical training, exam vouchers, field placements and project-based learning to prepare participants for careers in the technology sector. Training areas include software development, artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, networks, digital infrastructure, embedded systems and digital arts.
The program combines academic instruction with practical training, soft skills development, language studies and on-the-job experience, offering tracks ranging from short diplomas to master’s degree programs. It targets 5,000 students each year from across Egypt’s governorates.
The initiative is expected to cost about EGP 3 billion for accommodation and learning facilities, with an additional EGP 1 billion annually for training programs, and is positioned as part of Egypt’s broader drive to expand its digital workforce and advance long-term digital transformation.
