Morocco sets new tourism revenue record by July 2025

Morocco’s tourism sector continues its robust growth trajectory, with revenues reaching a record 67 billion dirhams ($7.5 bln) by the end of July 2025, marking a 13% increase compared to the same period in 2024, the ministry of tourism said.

This performance reflects the sustained momentum of the sector, driven by both international visitors and the Moroccan diaspora. In July alone, the country welcomed 2.7 million tourists, a 6% year-on-year increase.

Of these, 875,000 were foreign tourists, while 1.8 million were Moroccans residing abroad, whose arrivals rose by 7%.

Cumulatively, Morocco recorded 11.6 million tourist arrivals between January and July 2025, a 16% rise over the same period last year. Moroccans living abroad accounted for 52% of this total, underscoring their vital role in the sector’s resilience.

Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor attributed the strong performance to Morocco’s enduring appeal as both a cultural and emotional destination.

“The positive momentum continues, supported by local tourists, our diaspora, and international visitors alike,” she said.

The ministry emphasized that these results align with the objectives of the national tourism roadmap for 2023–2026, which focuses on enhancing the visitor’s experience and responding to evolving travelers’ expectations.
