Moroccan airlines to launch direct flights to Boston and Los Angeles in 2026
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is set to expand its transatlantic network with two new direct routes from Casablanca to Boston and Los Angeles starting May 2026, Moroccan media reported.
This strategic move strengthens the Moroccan carrier’s footprint in North America and reinforces its ambition to become a leading connector between Africa and the United States.
The Casablanca–Boston route marks the revival of a service previously operated by RAM, catering to strong demand from the Moroccan community in New England, Le360 reported citing sources.
Meanwhile, the Casablanca–Los Angeles flight will be a historic first for the airline, opening a direct link to the U.S. West Coast, home to a significant Moroccan diaspora, it said.
Both cities will host matches during the FIFA World Cup 2026, an event expected to draw thousands of Moroccan and African fans. The timing of these new routes aligns perfectly with this anticipated surge in travel.
Flights will be operated by Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, offering passengers a modern, comfortable experience on long-haul journeys. RAM will also maintain its codeshare partnership with American Airlines, ensuring seamless connections across the U.S. domestic network.
The official announcement is expected in the coming days, ahead of the summer 2026 booking season.
With these additions, RAM will increase its US destinations to five: New York, Washington D.C., Miami, Boston, and Los Angeles.
This expansion is part of RAM’s long-term growth plan, which aims to quadruple its fleet by 2037. Currently operating around 60 aircraft and serving over 80 destinations worldwide, the airline is positioning itself as a key player in transatlantic travel.
