Four Bangladeshi people freed after being kidnapped by gang in south Tripoli

The Security Directorates Support Apparatus in the Regions has reported the successful release of four Bangladeshi nationals who were held captive in a house along Airport Road, south of Tripoli. The individuals had been kidnapped after leaving a mosque in an undisclosed Libyan city, though the exact date and location of the abduction were not specified.
According to the Apparatus, the victims were bound and transported in a cargo truck over a distance of approximately 250 kilometers before being taken to the captors’ hideout on Airport Road, a known base for the kidnappers. The abductors demanded a ransom of 50,000 Libyan dinars for their release. However, police forces, along with members of the 111th Brigade, intervened and managed to rescue the hostages.
One suspect involved in the kidnapping has been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining culprits.
Further investigations revealed that the youths had been lured to Libya with promises of employment at a hospital, for which each had paid Tk 430,000 (around $5,050 USD) to a local recruiter named Zahirul Islam. Initially flown to Dubai on tourist visas, their journey then took them to Libya via Egypt, where they were sold to a broker and eventually abducted.
The kidnappers had given an ultimatum, demanding the ransom by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, threatening the lives of the victims if their demands were not met. This left the families in a frantic struggle to secure the necessary funds to ensure the safe return of their loved ones.
