Moroccan medical aid to the African Union Commission received in Addis Ababa

Moroccan medical aid destined to the African Union Commission, in the context of the aid granted to several African countries, at the high instructions of King Mohammed VI, arrived Monday morning in Addis Ababa.

The Moroccan medical aid meant to support African countries in their efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic, was received at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, by Social Affairs Commissioner of the AU Commission, Amira El Fadil, and Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the AU and ECA Mohamed Arrouchi.

King Mohammed VI has ordered the shipment of medical aid to help 15 African countries in their efforts to deal with the coronavirus outbreak. These countries are Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Comoros, Congo, Eswatini, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Tanzania, Chad and Zambia.

The royal humanitarian gesture and Morocco’s cooperation efforts were highly appreciated by many countries and analysts as they translate the country’s strong African commitment and its active solidarity towards African countries within the framework of the King’s vision for South-South cooperation.

The humanitarian gesture is the first of its kind by an African country and confirms Morocco’s standing and leadership in addressing the continent’s pressing issues.
