The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation and Administration Reform have agreed to launch joint workstreams in the short term, Maroc Diplomatique reports.
The decision was made at a working session between CGEM president Mehdi Tazi and the AI minister, Ahmed Rahhou, that focused on administrative simplification.
Going beyond dematerialization, the two sides, aware that the complexity of procedures remains one of the main brakes on investment, stressed the need to rethinking procedures themselves, and replacing prior-authorization regimes with clear specifications for some activities.
They also discussed opening and making better use of data, particularly public data, for companies and startups. On artificial intelligence, the talks covered Morocco’s positioning along the AI value chain, with skills a priority, including training at scale and adapting curricula in both public and private institutions.
The participants also converged on the need for a common operational definition of a startup for public schemes, notably access to public procurement and support mechanisms.
