Libya’s fuel bill exceeds $1bn as NOC reports July Local supplies

Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) says it supplied 1.369 million metric tons of fuel to the local market in July 2026, with the estimated value reaching about $1.006 billion. The corporation said it received 1.378 million tons of fuel from local and international sources, including gasoline, diesel, LPG, kerosene and heavy fuel oil.

Diesel accounted for the largest share of supplies at 625,429 tons, followed by gasoline at 534,766 tons and heavy fuel oil at 155,802 tons. Power plants were the largest consumers, receiving 405,311 tons of diesel and 57,686 tons of heavy fuel oil.

The NOC said 90,000 tons of diesel and 120,000 tons of gasoline were deferred for delivery in August because loading and unloading berths were occupied. End-of-July stocks stood at 37,719 tons of diesel and 162,260 tons of gasoline.

The corporation said publishing the figures on August 13, 2026, was part of its commitment to transparency and keeping stakeholders informed about fuel supplies and distribution to meet domestic demand.
