Libya and Mauritania have agreed to establish a technical Committee to review and reactivate bilateral agreements between the two countries, following talks held in Tripoli.
The decision was reached during a meeting between Libya’s Acting Foreign Minister Taher Al-Baour and Mauritania’s Ambassador to Libya, Sidi Yahya Lemrabott.
According to Libya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the committee will assess existing agreements and develop mechanisms to ensure their effective implementation in line with shared development priorities.
Both sides also discussed strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors and reviewed regional and international issues of mutual concern. They further agreed to continue diplomatic coordination on preparations for the next session of the Libya–Mauritania Joint Higher Committee, including setting a date and venue. The initiative is aimed at deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation frameworks between the two countries.
