Uber is expanding its presence in Morocco, launching services in Agadir and Tangier as it deepens a comeback to the North African market after an eight-year absence, the company said.
The ride-hailing platform, which resumed operations in Morocco in November 2025, has already re-established services in Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakech, and is now targeting key tourist destinations to tap rising demand for mobility, Uber Morocco director general Faycal Ihrai told Medias24.
He said early activity since its return showed strong demand from residents and visitors for “reliable and easy-to-use” transport services.
The company is pursuing a gradual expansion strategy, rolling out city by city and working with licensed transport partners, positioning its service as complementary to traditional taxi operators rather than a replacement, he said.
Morocco is viewed as a strategic market for Uber, driven by tourism growth and preparations for major events including the 2030 World Cup, which is expected to boost travel demand.
For now, the company would focus on expanding its core ride-hailing service and improving reliability before considering additional offerings such as deliveries, he said.
