Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency sends Eid Al-Adha allowances to Palestinian orphans

The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency announced on Monday the payment of allowances for Palestinian orphans sponsored by the institution in Al-Quds, ahead of Eid Al-Adha. This follows the disbursement of the first-quarter allowance for the current year to beneficiary orphans in the Gaza Strip on April 30.

This initiative carries a new message of hope, allowing orphaned children to share the joy of Eid with their peers. It also reflects the Agency’s commitment to implementing the instructions of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, aimed at continuing efforts to support the Palestinians of Al-Quds across all categories and in all circumstances.

On this occasion, the Agency organized, in cooperation with “Astra Med Lab” laboratories, a medical campaign at the Industrial Islamic Orphanage in the town of Al-Eizariya in Al-Quds, benefiting 130 orphaned residents of the establishment.

This initiative was carried out by an integrated medical team, which notably included a general practitioner, a pediatrician, and an ophthalmologist, as well as nursing teams, in addition to the mobilization of a mobile medical laboratory.

In this context, the Director General of the Industrial Islamic Orphanage of Al-Quds, Nidal Al-Jaabari, emphasized that these activities represent significant support for orphaned children, noting that this group is among the most vulnerable and in greatest need of care.

“We thank HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, as well as Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency for this continuous support. Such initiatives play an essential role in providing quality services to orphans, both in terms of healthcare and other humanitarian aspects,” he added.

Al-Jaabari also praised this constant and sustainable support from the Kingdom of Morocco, which continues to back the protection of the Holy City and the strengthening of its residents’ resilience through the implementation of social, developmental, educational, and healthcare projects on the ground.

For her part, the director of “Astra Med Lab” laboratories, Dalia Jaradat, indicated that the medical team observed, during the day, “a real need for healthcare among the children.”

“We came today to reaffirm our support for these children and provide them with the necessary examinations with the participation of pediatricians and ophthalmologists. We were surprised by the extent of the needs, whether regarding medical check-ups, eyeglasses, or health monitoring,” she clarified.

She explained that the medical teams have noted, through the campaigns conducted so far in 16 of the 31 targeted areas, a significant need for examinations and healthcare, particularly given the current conditions Palestine is going through and the lack of medicines and medical testing due to the financial crisis affecting the health sector.

For his part, Mahmoud, a 16-year-old resident of the orphanage, expressed his gratitude to the Agency, noting that the establishment’s residents benefited from comprehensive medical examinations.

“We felt today that there are people who care about our situation,” he emphasized, adding that these check-ups allowed them to check for any symptoms or diseases, giving them hope and a sense of psychological comfort.

In 2008, the Agency launched the “Kafala Al-Yatim” program in the city of Al-Quds, benefiting 500 orphaned children, before gradually expanding it to other categories of children in need.

At the end of last April, the Agency announced the expansion of the program to 350 orphaned children in the Gaza Strip and proceeded, in mid-May, to pay the first quarterly installment of sponsorship allowances to beneficiary children in the territory, thanks to funding from the Kingdom of Morocco.
