The new Syrian Authorities have voiced strong support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and UNSC Resolution 2797 which endorsed the Autonomy plan in the Sahara under the Kingdom’s sovereignty.
The supportive stand, which deals a hard blow to the Algerian regime and its Polisario puppets, comes in a joint statement issued in Rabat following the meeting held Thursday between Syria’s Foreign minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani and Moroccan peer Nasser Bourita.
The UN Security Council 2797 offers a “realistic, enduring and consensual political solution’’ to end the Sahara regional conflict, said the Syrian minister.
He also commended the efforts deployed by King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al-Quds Committee, for the protection of the Holy city of Al-Quds and its inhabitants, the preservation of its cultural identity, and its status as a symbol of tolerance and coexistence among the three monotheistic religions.
Al-Shaibani stressed the importance of the socioeconomic and humanitarian projects carried out by Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee, in support of the holy city and Al-Quds inhabitants.
The Syrian FM hailed Morocco’s steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause, citing in this regard the initiatives launched to prop up the resilience of the inhabitants of Al-Quds and protect the cultural and spiritual identity of Al-Quds Asharif.
Morocco and Syria lauded the positive dynamic spurred in their relations and expressed determination strengthen cooperation in all strategic sectors.
Bourita and Al-Shaibani agreed to conduct a thorough review of the legal and institutional frameworks governing the two countries relations in a bid to set a new cooperation roadmap reflecting the new realities and shared goals of both Rabat and Damascus.
