Egypt’s digital exports climbed to $7.4 billion in 2025, marking a 124 per cent increase from $3.3 billion in 2018, Communications and Information Technology Minister Amr Talaat announced on Monday, 22 December 2025.
The minister said the surge has underpinned sustained annual growth of 14–16 per cent in the ICT sector, with outsourcing exports doubling to $4.8 billion in 2025 from $2.4 billion in 2022. Egypt now hosts 270 outsourcing companies and 240 service centres, reflecting a significant expansion of the digital services ecosystem. Government targets include raising outsourcing exports to $9 billion by 2026, supported by recent agreements with local and international firms expected to generate more than 100,000 jobs over the next three years.
Talaat also highlighted sharp gains in digital capacity-building, with ICT training numbers rising to 500,000 in fiscal year 2024/2025, up from about 4,000 in 2018/2019. Digital public services have expanded to 210 offerings under the Digital Egypt platform, now serving over 10 million users.
The progress aligns with Egypt’s 2030 Vision and is reinforced by investments in AI-driven government services, telecoms infrastructure upgrades since 2019, growing local electronics manufacturing, and preparations for 5G rollout. Together, these pillars position Egypt as an increasingly influential node in global digital trade, where infrastructure, talent and policy converge into a coherent growth narrative.
