Morocco Encourages Youth Training for Casablanca’s Investment Hub Future
Investment Minister Karim Zidane called for enhanced youth training programs aligned with future industries as Casablanca positions itself to become an international investment hub attracting major global corporations.
Speaking at the “Niqach Al Ahrar” (RNI Dialogue) forum, Zidane highlighted Casablanca’s exceptional economic potential and stressed the necessity of orienting youth education toward future industries and cutting-edge technologies, particularly 5G networks, to support industrial momentum and strengthen the metropolis’s attractiveness.
The minister revealed that several major international corporations, notably Chinese and European groups, are seeking to establish operations in Casablanca due to its dynamism and strategic advantages. “Casablanca has a very promising future. We already count at least five to six world-renowned companies wishing to establish themselves here,” Zidane stated, noting that such installations typically attract additional players in their wake.
Zidane emphasized the need for public policy convergence to support this dynamic by preparing both land resources and qualified workforce capable of meeting new industrial sectors’ requirements. He urged educational institutions to orient training programs toward future technologies, particularly citing 5G as an indispensable lever for economic, industrial, and medical development.
“5G is not a choice—it’s an obligation. Future industries require elevated technological levels. Tomorrow, a doctor will be able to operate remotely from another country thanks to these technologies,” the minister explained, underscoring the transformative potential of advanced telecommunications infrastructure.
Despite current economic challenges, Zidane reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining action coherence and complementarity. “The Prime Minister sets the major directions, and ministers implement them in a spirit of solid coordination within the coalition,” he declared.
The minister also highlighted media’s essential role in communicating government achievements and raising citizen awareness about the scope of ongoing projects. His remarks reflect broader government strategy to position Casablanca at the forefront of Morocco’s industrial transformation, ensuring the city develops both physical infrastructure and human capital necessary to compete in global high-tech manufacturing and services sectors.
