Moroccan international university of Rabat has partnered with American technology company Cisco to advance cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) through the establishment of a local Cisco Incubation centre.
Under an agreement signed Wednesday, Cisco pledges to foster collaboration among academia, the private sector, and public institutions to accelerate Morocco’s digital transformation, support its growing innovation ecosystem, and train future tech leaders through programs like the Cisco Networking Academy, a skills-to jobs initiative sharing the future of workforce.
The Networking Academy program provides ICT skills to students globally to improve their career and economic opportunities. It operates in high schools, colleges, universities, technical schools, community-based organisations, and government bodies. Its curriculum combines the theory and practice of designing, developing and implementing the networks that underpin businesses and other organisations. In addition, its advanced technology curricula in areas such as security, wireless and Internet Protocol (IP) telephony provide exposure to the latest technology skills in those fields.
The initiative is part of Cisco’s global Country Digital Acceleration program which seeks to power an inclusive future by unlocking the value of digitization focusing on innovative technology solutions and the protection of vulnerable groups by securing systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks.
