Morocco have discovered their opponents in the FIFA U-17 World Cup and FIFA Arab Cup 2025 after the draws held Sunday in Qatar, host country of these two global football tournaments.
The young Atlas Lions have been drawn in Group B including Portugal, Japan and New Caledonia. The 2025 U-17 World Cup will be held in Qatar November 3 – 27.
The newly-expanded tournament will feature 48 nations for the first time. They were drawn into 12 groups of four teams. The top two teams in each group, along with the eight best third-placed sides, will qualify for the Round of 32. From the Round of 32 onwards, the tournament will be played in a knockout format.
Doha also hosted the draws for FIFA Arab Cup due in Qatar from December 1 to 18. A total of 23 national football teams will vie for the 2nd FIFA Arab cup. Its total money prize will exceed $36.5 million, marking a new record for the event.
Morocco has been drawn in Group B including Saudi Arabia, Oman or Somalia, Yemen or Comoros. The nine highest-ranked teams in April’s FIFA World Ranking have received automatic qualification for the group stage, which will feature 16 teams divided into four groups.
