GITEX Africa: IFC ramps up investment in Morocco with $1.1 Bln for 2025
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) will be investing more than $1.1 billion in Morocco this year, compared to $600 million in 2024 and less than $400 million in 2023,” said David Tinel, the institution’s Regional Representative for the Maghreb.
In an interview with MAP, on the sidelines of GITEX Africa Morocco 2025, Tinel expressing great satisfaction with the quality of the relationship between the two parties, describing it as a partnership of “excellent quality.”
He hailed the 3rd GITEX Africa Morocco as a yet another illustration of Morocco’s know-how in running large-scale international events, attracting a vast and talented audience. “You really have to tour the installations to grasp the magnitude of the event, which welcomes over 40,000 participants.”
According to the IFC representative—whose institution is the main private-sector-focused development arm of the World Bank in emerging countries—entrepreneurs and innovation play a key role in the private sector.
“If I had to identify a single priority, creating quality jobs would undoubtedly be our top priority in Morocco,” he said, highlighting significant investment opportunities, particularly in the fintech sector.
