Morocco, Kazakhstan cancel visa requirements

Kazakhstan has approved a visa exemption deal with Morocco, in a move that is aimed at boosting tourist flows between the two nations, Kazakh media reported.

The deal, signed in 2024, allows nationals from the two nations to visit visa-free for stays of up to 30 days within a period of three months.

As of 2024, Moroccan citizens have visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 73 countries and territories, including Brazil, South Korea, most of French speaking West Africa, Tunisia, Turkey and Malaysia.

Morocco has also launched the electronic visa (eVisa) system on July 10, 2022, to simplify the visa application process for eligible travelers.

Last year, a total of 385,738 electronic visas (e-visas) were issued, reflecting a significant increase compared to previous years.

A record 17.4 million tourists visited the country which has also been expanding its airport in preparation for the surge in demand on the Morocco destination.
