
Liberian economic delegation explores investment opportunities in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab
An economic delegation from the Republic of Liberia visited Dakhla on Friday to explore business opportunities in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region and discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors.
This visit is part of the Liberia Economic Promotion Week in Morocco, aimed at showcasing Liberia’s economic potential in various sectors and promoting the development of mutually beneficial business partnerships between Moroccan and Liberian operators.
In a statement to the press, Liberia’s Minister of Agriculture, Alexander Nuetah, stressed that this visit reflects the will of Liberia and Morocco to establish a strong economic partnership by exploring new ways of cooperation, particularly after the recent signing of several strategic agreements in Laâyoune in various sectors between the two countries.
“The Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region has enormous potential in the fields of fisheries and aquaculture,” Nuetah noted, adding that Liberia possesses similar potential that deserves to be better exploited.
For his part, Liberia’s Deputy Minister for International Cooperation and Economic Integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim Al-Bakri Nyei, emphasized that the purpose of this visit is to explore ways to promote bilateral cooperation in various fields.
“It is an opportunity to share ideas, lessons, and experiences in areas of common interest, including agriculture and renewable energy”, Ibrahim Al-Bakri Nyei said.
The President of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Regional Council, El Khattat Yanja, highlighted that this visit is an opportunity to review the new development model for the Southern Provinces, launched in 2015 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
It is also a chance to present the major infrastructure projects in the region, including the Dakhla Atlantic Port, and explore the investment opportunities offered by the Republic of Liberia, he added.
