President of Senegal addresses written message to King Mohammed VI
President of Senegal Bassirou Diomaye Faye has addressed a written message to King Mohammed VI that was handed over by Foreign Minister, Mrs Yassine Fall, at a meeting in Rabat this Tuesday with her Moroccan peer Nasser Bourita.
In a statement to the media following this meeting, Mrs Fall praised the “relations of solidarity, friendship, and economic cooperation” existing between the two countries, and expressed the desire to “strengthen these relations at various levels.”
She also took the opportunity to mention the upcoming Morocco-Senegal Joint Commission scheduled for early 2025, saying that it represents prospects to lay the groundwork for “Moroccan and Senegalese teams to identify areas and fields of collaboration and partnership between our two countries.”
The head of Senegalese diplomacy said further that she had discussed with her Moroccan peer continental issues, as well as partnership matters at the regional and Atlantic levels. She noted in this regard that the Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project was also discussed during the talks.
